I am a member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians). The ISM is an organisation which protects tutors and students by offering services such as: insurance, legal support, professional development, documentation and professional advice.
ISM - Agreement for Private Music Tuition
I am using the “Agreement for private music tuition” from the ISM. This simple contract specifies details such as: number and length of lessons, dates, times and location of lessons, fees, arrangements for missed lessons etc. This means that you reserve a weekly spot and if you want to rearrange a lesson you need to let me know 24 hours in advance.
Please be aware that every student/parent must sign the agreement.
ISM - Insurance
The ISM provides £10m public liability insurance cover and £100k legal expenses insurance cover. This means if I cause accidental injury to another person or damage property in the course of my work we are both covered. You don’t have to take any further steps.
